Pelvic & Women’s Health Expert in Takanini/Papakura

Courtney has dedicated over a decade of her life to musculoskeletal physiotherapy & the past 4 years to pelvic health physiotherapy. She has completed advanced professional training & is an expert in pelvic health for women. She’s here to help you understand and manage your pelvic floor concerns at any stage of your life - from adolescence to post-menopause and beyond.

What Is Pelvic Health Physiotherapy?

A key aspect of pelvic health physiotherapy is its emphasis on the pelvic floor — a group of muscles essential for various bodily functions related to bladder, bowel and sexual health. We address the strength, endurance and coordination of these muscles.

Childbirth, aging, surgery, chronic constipation or coughing can impact the condition of your pelvic floor.

Courtney offers individualised strategies and therapy to manage and reduce symptoms so that you can lead an active lifestyle.

What To Expect In The Initial Consultation?

We will begin with a thorough discussion about your medical history and any concerns that you have which will include a detailed review of your bladder and bowel habits, sexual health and obstetric history. We completely understand that these topics are personal and your privacy is a top priority of ours.

To be able to gain a thorough understanding of your pelvic floor function and health, we conduct an internal vaginal examination. This helps us to accurately assess various aspects of your pelvic floor including muscle strength, endurance, coordination, sensitivity and to identify any sign of pelvic floor injury or prolapse.

Education is the foundation of our physiotherapy practice so that you can understand your diagnosis and the rationale for our treatment plan. Well provide you with an individualised treatment plan to help address your condition
